Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In my studio, we would start by teaching good breathing habits, sound production and singing with clean vowels, and (if you want) reading music. You will find your range will probably increase and you will have more confidence in what your voice can do. Each lesson begins with skill building exercises, then we work on a specific song of your choice.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelors of Music from Weber State University in 2003 and I've been teaching voice for over 10 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I teach both private and group lessons. I recommend private lessons for adults and intermediate to advanced students. I charge $35/half hour and $70/hour for private lessons. While group lessons are $25/hour.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Finding a teacher that works for you can be difficult. This is why I offer a free trial lesson before you sign up. During the lesson we can see if this is a good fit.
