How did you get started teaching?
I was spending so much time in yoga healing myself from numerous injuries and helping family and friends with their recoveries that it made sense for me to become certified to refine my skills and help more people. My injuries include broken back, bulging disc, hip misalignment, knee pain, sprained ankle, broken foot. I have experience in therapeutic practices other than yoga to add in when needed.
What types of students have you worked with?
Teenage athletes, triathletes, moms, and even up to seniors in their 70s with chair yoga in their post operative recovery time.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy hosting and attending healing events such as sound baths, drum circles, and Reiki shares.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Think about your needs. Are you looking for basic fitness, or more healing from trauma, injury, or a painful life experience? My style is very holistic and I incorporate the mind, body, and spirit in my yoga teaching and teach you how to self heal in between sessions.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What so you want to get out of the sessions ultimately? Who do you want to be by next year? Do you want to feel better? Look better? Feel stronger? Have a happier mental outlook? What is important to you?
