About

I have been offering private piano lessons to students age 4 through adult in northwest Houston area since 1991. I have a bachelor degree and a master degree in piano performance and pedagogy. I also taught private piano lessons at Lone Star College, Tomball for 9 years.

I am a member of National Music Teachers Asscoiation, Texas Music Teachers Association, Cypress Creek Music Teachers Association, and the National Piano Guild of Piano Teachers. My students regular attend studio recitals, Texas State Theory Test, and piano competitions.

Best part of my job is being able to work with my students for a long time. A lot of my students go through grade school taking piano lessons with me. Often I teach students for 10-14 years before they graduate from high school. I get to see my students grow up physically and musically into a accomplished pianist.

My goal in teaching piano is to make piano fun, yet challenging. I believe in instilling a lifetime enjoyment of music.

Frequently asked questions

For new students who have no piano lessons before, I want to start them on a good foundation in music reading, rhythm, and details to make the music come to live.  In addition to learning from method books, I always let students pick a piece of their choice (with guidence).  They will perfect this piece before moving on to another piece of their choice.

I have a bachelor and a master degree in piano performance and pedagogy.  I have been teaching piano to students age 4 through adult for 30 years.  I know the teaching pieces and classical repertoire, which enable me to help students pick pieces they will love to practice to increase their skill level.

30 min lessons $120

45 min lessons $180

Playing piano comes to me easily and I always love playing the piano.  I was a advance student by the time I was 16.  I accompanied children choir and play at services at church.  I also start teaching piano lessons.  When I go to college, I decided to major in piano performance and pedagogy.

I teach student age 4 through adult.  While I help most students pick pieces to learn, some students bring their music for me to teach.  If you want to play piano, I will work with you.

I am fortunate enough to teach a lot of my students through grade school.  Sometimes I teach the students for 10-14 years before they graduate from high school.  I love watching my students grow up physically and musically into advance pianists.

Find a experienced teacher who you will be happy to work with.  Because you have to work with this person every week.

Other teaching basic reading and rhythm, you want a teacher who will teach you musiciality to bring your music to live.

I think if you have a question, just ask the teacher.  We are there to guide you.  Asking questions is part of learning.
