About
I can rapidly fix and improve a students playing on violin and or viola. I use these instruments to help them build confidence that helps them transfer these skills into other life areas.
I love watching a student grow and mature and it gives me great pleasure to be a part of that process. I also use my intuition to help anyone grow as a musician.
I have a Bachelors of Music from the University of Miami, a Masters of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Masters in Music Education from Lehman College. I have also studied at the Suzuki Institute in New York.
I have taught for 20 years in a public school in New York.
I also play, record, and compose alternative styles of music and have released 4 albums under my name. My latest is called Whistle on the Fly Récords music label. I have a YouTube channel called Sonyasviolin.
