Houston Texas Bassist Tim Busby is a talented instructor and versatile electric bass guitarist with an unconventional approach to music education. Tim began playing the bass at age eight and was working as a professional musician by his late teens. An eclectic and diverse bassist, he has covered many styles, including rock, blues, funk, fusion, metal, progressive, pop, and country music. As a bass player, Tim has worked professionally in a wide range of musical styles and even went on to play with some notable acts including Vince Vance & The Valiants; an American country pop, rock and roll and novelty musical group from New Orleans LA. The group’s most sustained hit record is the country ballad “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, which charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts on six separate occasions in the 1990s. To name all the musicians and groups he has recorded, toured or performed with would be a daunting endeavor. As a teacher, Tim’s aim is to help students unlock the meaning and message of music. He approaches each lesson fully committed to spark a student’s imagination and musical understanding. Tim’s goal is to do more than teach bass. He helps students become problem solvers and independent learners, as they find their own voices. He asks lots of questions to help students make their own musical decisions. Whether the student is 8 or 68, Tim provides a comfortable space for them to learn and grow as a musician in an environment they can contribute to and enjoy.
