Acrylic Painting For Newbies
About
I love the process of painting, from start to finish! Especially the joy in teaching new painters.
I studied fine arts at the University of Houston, completing an independent study with resident artist/professor Kelli Vance. I focused mainly on acrylic painting and printmaking. My visual work consists mainly of figural and surrealist images, but I'm well versed in still life as well.
To me, it is truly a pleasure to introduce new artists to the medium of paint and I am eager to help you start your painting journey! I love to see a student realize their own potential is limitless. It's amazing how a little knowledge of the craft and the right supplies can build an artist's confidence, and a wonderful thing to witness.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students go through a brief question/answer session to determine what it is they are seeking from the craft. Next supplies are discussed. After that, we begin with the basics of color theory and perspective! Then it's all painting projects and feedback!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Studio/Fine Arts at the University of Houston, completing an independent study with hyperrealist artist/Professor Kelli Vance, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors's in Art. However, I also studied digital media/graphic design (adobe suite), sculpture, ceramics, and art history.
