Anna Lisa Ohnstad, Cello Teacher

Anna Lisa Ohnstad is a highly experienced freelance cellist and licensed music educator who approaches teaching according to students' musical interests and goals. She emphasizes skills that transfer to diverse musical pursuits and encourages creative expression & collaboration through duets and improvised harmony. Her students routinely receive top ratings at music festivals and honor orchestra auditions.

Anna Lisa completed graduate studies in Music Education - String Studio Pedagogy at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point; also holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts with Music Depth and M.A. in Human Services; and has registered Suzuki cello teacher training. She studied cello privately for 18 years and harp for 7 years, including a decade in the Music Institute of Chicago's comprehensive Suzuki and musicianship program.

In addition to many years of performing and private teaching, Anna Lisa served as orchestra director at Yongsan International School of Seoul in South Korea from 2015-2017 after student teaching at West Ridge Middle School in Austin, TX.
