About
I’m a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and natural horseman. I found healing through horses. I want to spread my love of horses.
As a Natural Horseman I use the instincts and language that horses already have, and understand, to gain trust and respect. I do this by using games. I start these games on the ground and then transfer these games to the saddle. This builds communication, trust and respect. Once you have those three things, you have everything.
For those interested in lessons I recommend 10 lessons to start you off right. Your first three lessons are all ground work. As one student realized “riding is just doing the ground games from horseback.” I give lessons so others can create stronger, better bonds with their horses! Even those of us who have been around horses for years can always learn something more. Horses never stop teaching me new lessons. One of my favorite quotes is from a young lady who had been riding for years. She said “Mr. Brown, I didn’t know there was so much to know”. I understood exactly how she felt. She improved very quickly and loved learning more about horses.
I also do colt starting and problem solving. If you have a specific problem I can help you and your horse work through it all.
In the future I plan to add guided trail rides on a 1600 acre ranch.
Please feel free to look at my Facebook page Natural Horseman Matthew Brown. You can contact me via Facebook messenger, find my phone number, reviews and even book appointments there. You can find tips, tricks, and other horse info on that page as well.
Thank you.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons are usually about an hour long. You can use one of my horses or bring your own. Time may vary depending on the student and horse
The first three lessons are all on the ground. You will not be on a horse until your 4th lesson.
You will learn the basics for communication, respect and trust with your horse.
With communication, respect, and trust, horse and rider will advance through practice to become an inseparable unit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a two year apprenticeship with nationally renowned horseman Aaron England.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I have worked with kids starting at 8, teenagers, young adults and even a few people over 50 who had never risen before.

Ensure their focus is on the horse, and your safety.
