Kristen Yarmey Healing Through Yoga And Energy Work
About
I'm a 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), reiki master, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) practitioner, and an ordained minister in the Madonna Interfaith Community. Seeking relief from anxiety and depression, I began practicing yoga after realizing how disconnected I was from my own body. As a former academic, both yoga and energy healing have been significant tools in my journey from living from the head to living to the heart. My classes emphasize body awareness and the connections between movement, breath, emotion, and energy. I teach kundalini, vinyasa, slow flow, yin, and restorative yoga. I'm available for private yoga, reiki, or spiritual consultation appointments upon request.
I love seeing my students' faces and shoulders relax when they start to settle into the body. Students look different after my classes - they have a calm glow to them that I love to see!

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Please contact me for pricing. The pricing for my sessions is affected by where we meet for class. I'm new to Fort Collins and hopefully will have access to studio space in the near future, but due to space rental costs, it's generally cheaper to meet at your home or office!
How did you get started teaching?
I practiced yoga for more than 5 years before I decided to pursue my teaching certification. Yoga became a really important part of my life - I was at my studio taking class 5-6 times a week, and I came to depend on it for stress relief and mental focus.
What types of students have you worked with?
I love working with beginners - it's a joy to be the one to introduce someone to yoga! My strength is yoga for energy, relaxation, and clarity. I tend to work with many students who struggle with anxiety and depression and the muscle tension that goes along with that. I've worked with students of all ages and physical fitness levels. In yoga, if a pose doesn't work for your body, there is always a modification!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Lately I've been teaching some 90 min kundalini yoga workshops. Normally classes are only 60 minutes, so the extra time in the workshop really allows me to take students deeper into the practice. One workshop I taught was all about connecting to Mother Earth energy, and the most recent was all about using kundalini yoga to release anger and frustration.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Close your eyes, place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly. Ask your body to guide you to the best teacher for you. ππ»
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Our mind, body, and spirit are interconnected, so when I first work with someone I ask them how they've been feeling physically, emotionally, and spiritually. What is it that you really, truly want? What does your heart desire?
