My name is Savannah Parks and I've been a violinist for 8 years and counting. I'm a junior at Southwestern University with a major in Studio Art but music is and will always be a huge passion of mine. I'm a very energetic, positive, fun person who works well with kids. I've been teaching violin to children and adults for two years now at a guitar shop in Georgetown. It's a wonderful and rewarding experience that I can't get enough of. (Note: The times listed as Available are the hours that Ken'z Guitars is open. This is where I and several other music teachers teach)Some history on my violin experience:
I have performed in numerous concerts, and competed in several Solo and Ensemble competitions, as well as UIL competitions (and received top marks in all if not most). I play at intermediate to advanced levels and teach beginner to intermediate students. I accept students of any age from 5 to 105!
My lessons consist of learning basic scales, key changes, violin and music vocabulary, how to keep tempo, finger positioning, string tuning, bowing and plucking techniques, and of course playing beautiful music! Each lesson varies with each student, but I am flexible in my teaching practices and can conform to every kind of student's needs whether you're just starting out or have years of experience.
