About
Art is my passion and I genuinely enjoy sharing my passion with others. I have over 10 years of experience teaching art and music to ages 10-adult. I have two goals for my art student:
1) Growth
2) Fun!
With this said, if you want to join a fun and engaging art experience, welcome!
Helping people build skill is what I enjoy most about teaching. Art is a medium of self expression. Seeing the results of each individual express themselves through art is rewarding.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Well, most improtantly I like to find out what the students goal is. Afterward, a plan of action can be detailed to meet the needs of the learining artist. The first lesson will be a fun and engaging one where students will get a feel for the sessions to come.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 8 years teaching experience from ages 8-adult. I've taught subjects such as art, music, auto mechanics, sports (special needs), and investing in crypto currency. I have about 30 college credits in art fundamentals, years of painting, drawing most of my life and I try to stay actively working with artists in my community.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching at a very young age (12 or so). I grew up playing guitar and when i started inviting friends over, they were blown away and wanted to learn as well. Fast foward to my first job out of high school, I worked for an afterschool program in California. This was an amazing eight year journey where teaching was a majority of the job description. My main focus was art and music. In the art realm, we did community murals, various painting projects, recreations of classic artists and much, much more (too much to summarize 8 years worth).
What types of students have you worked with?
I've had students from ages 8-adult. Male, female, parents, children, grandparents, and groups. Ive dealt with students who have ADHD, ADD, leaning disabilities, as well as impatient people, quiet people, talkative people, and many unique personalities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had an Austin based artist invite my wife and I over for a critique on her work before her show. Everytime im offered the chance to critique art, especially in bulk, i take it. I truly enjoy every individuals interpretation and styles. This was an awesome experience since the artist used mostly pink on her 15 canvases! This was one to remember to say the least.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
All personalities are different and as such, every artists has their own teaching experiences. The possiblilities of learning something new are endless! Everything you learn is good. Its how you apply what you've learned that makes the difference.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
ask themselves "what am I looking to gain". We do things for different reasons but knowing why you do things helps you stay on track for any goals you set for yourself.
