About
Hi! My name is Tiffany Chan, and I'm so excited to help you or your child develop long-lasting musical skills and a passion for violin. Growing up as a shy child, I understand the importance of catering to all learning styles and personalities and making everyone feel comfortable and heard.
Here's some more about me :) I've been playing violin since I was five years old. As I grew up, I began to love the instrument more and more, and gain recognition and accomplishments in both school and state orchestras. I've had the pleasure of playing in the Texas Music Educators Association's Region Orchestra for six consecutive years in a row, so I'm more than happy to help learners prepare for an orchestral setting. Furthermore, I've also been given a Division 1 ranking for my solo performance at University Interscholastic League Solo and Ensemble for six years in a row as well.
My first priority will be to find out your level of comfort with violin and reading sheet music, and focusing on reading, ear training, and healthy posture and form. With a combination of scales, exercises, and unique pieces, I guarantee you will gain experience quickly.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always begin by learning more about the student! I firmly believe that every student has different needs and learning styles, so I prioritize adjusting my teaching methods accordingly. I also ask the student about his/her goals and whether or not they are preparing for a competitive setting.
