After four years of unremitting pain, I am finally discovering a way to direct my own healing. Tara brings what is probably the perfect combination of intuitive and technical understanding to each session; she is a gifted instructor who anticipates questions, enables healing, and is a wellspring of truly useful information. I leave each class with the confidence that I can and will get better.

Tara's Pilates instruction has changed the way I see physical and emotional fitness. She has guided me with outstanding knowledge and grace in learning Pilates. Pilates has made me feel stronger physically and stronger emotionally too. I have tried many other methods like barre and weight-training but I found that they bulked me up but after 4 years of Pilates, I have only gotten leaner and more toned (even with two pregnancies). I practiced Pilates throughout pregnancy and it definitely helped me. Now that I have two busy toddlers, I really appreciate how efficient Pilates workouts are in toning and strengthening, as well as the "can-do" attitude that permeates my day after a workout. It truly is good for body and soul and I'm so glad that I found Tara.

First time clients are welcome to the studio for an initial consultation. A one-on-one session at a discounted rate of $55.

You will undergo a body assessment and experience the Pilates Equipment training first hand. Any modifications can be determined during this session before jumping into a group class setting. Or private sessions will be recommended with those in chronic pain or needing undivided attention.

A 20 minute Light Therapy session can also be experienced during this time before your Pilates training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I initially received training in Colleen Glenn’s 2 year comprehensive course under the Pilates System that is now Peak Pilates.

Over the years I have continued my education and certificied in Pre/Post Natal Pilates instruction.

As well as training on Fascial Body Movement, & Psychological associations of movement.

I recently became certified in the Foot Zone Technique, by Wellness Lige Zone School, that stimulates the body back to its original blue print of health and function by activating pressure points in the feet.

I am Guided Imagery practitioner certified by Peaceful Mind Inc. and Reiki level 1/2 through Psycho Spiritual Alchemy.

How did you get started teaching?

I found Pilates in my search to heal from a concussion and cervical spine injury. The PTSD and neurological symptoms were debilitating. After finding a Pilates instructor to train with, I was blown away by the healing I had experienced after only 3 months of private training. I had to know how and why this was so effective. So I enrolled in an extensive 2 year teacher training and my healing moved me further into a passion. To help others move from pain to peace, incapacitated to empowered, self deprecating to self loving.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with veterans with PTSD, needing trauma processing; Pre & post natal clients; clients with paralysis or amputees, or missing muscles; back pain, spinal hernia toons or fusions; athletes; and those just looking for a summer body.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

My best advice is to find someone who will intuitively train your body. Training is not a one size fits all, so enforcing regimens that can lead to structural compromise or adrenal fatigue/burn out will be counter productive and to your detriment.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Are you willing to show up?

Are you able to be vulnerable?

Are you able to be compassionate with yourself & honest in your work?
