About
I am a graduate from BYU with my degree is Piano Performance and have been teaching piano for about 10 years. I love working with all ages and have a well rounded approach to teaching by getting my students involved in technique, theory, sight reading, performance pieces, group lessons, and composition.
I love helping kids love music. I offer not only private lessons but group Lessons for a more engaging learning environment among peers.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to meet with me in person or video so I can get an idea of the student's musical background as well as the parent's. This also allows the student to get to know me a little bit. At this meeting I go over my expectations and answer any questions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated with my Bahelor's degree in piano performance from Brigham Young University. With that degree there were piano teaching classes required so I have learned the correct methods to be a successful teacher. I have also been teaching for about 10 years so have gained experience with various types of students that way. I have been an ajudicator for music festivals multiple times giving me a chance to critique on a higher level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My tuition for lessons is $80 per month for four 30 minute lessons and $120 per month for four 45 minute lessons. The 30 minute lessons are for students under age 8 and 45 minute lessons for those 8 and above.
Group Lessons are $70 for 60 minute classes each week.
How did you get started teaching?
My mother was a piano teacher and I was the one that taught younger students that were on her waiting list before there was room in her studio.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from ages 4 through 40 at beginning to advanced levels. I have had students with ADHD and other learning disabilities that I have learned how to teach to their needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I do summer music camps and this year we did a Space themed one! We played music games with light sabers, planets, and other space things. Music camps include ensmble playing, theory, and other creative music learning activities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is not about the price but about what the teacher can offer. Learning to play the piano can help you learn self discipline, self movitation, and helps with brain development. A good teacher that has university training will be able to offer the type of musical education that will bring these results about with a student and parents that are willing to put forth the effort.
