John is a calm, approachable and patient teacher. He taught me how to break scenes up into smaller parts and tie it all together in the final take. I felt encouraged and motivated to do better in John’s class. He comes with my recommendation.

I cannot speak highly enough of his attention to detail and his effor to help you understand and feel the differences and methods in your body. He has a way of helping you shape your craft and understand it that is powerful and has staying power. It is a true joy to learn from him!

Jon is a wonderful teacher. He made my experience feel tailored and taught me concepts I had previously struggled with in a way I could easily understand and access. His patience, skill, and encouragement are priceless to me. He not only helped me improve, he built up my confidence. I highly recommend working with him!

John does a great job of breaking down concepts in such a simple and effective manner, and more importantly doing it in a safe way. I really liked his focus on taking care of yourself as an actor as you explore sensitive issues. Hes very encouraging and enthusiastic about getting you to explore your capabilities and not limiting yourself - whether its trying something new or even trying something you didnt consider yourself right for. Cant recommend him enough!

    Frequently asked questions

The first step is to set up an orientation, either over the phone or over zoom, where we will discuss what your previous acting experience (if any), what your personal goals are, and how I can help you achieve those goals. We'll then move to weekly lessons where I will teach you acting principles to help you become a stronger, more confident, and more consistent actor.

I have a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in Theater with an acting emphasis. I specialize in teaching Stanislavski's method and am also familiar with Meisner, Suzuki, Laban, viewpointing, and several other methodologies.

My rate is $40 for a 60 minute lesson; I also provide discounts for an 8-lesson package.

I started teaching because I love working with other actors, and I especially love seeing the confidence and growth that happens when breaking through barriers or achieving goals that been problematic or difficult in the past.

I've worked with children as young as 8 and adults as mature as 65; men, women, and nonbinary actors, of different sexualities and cultures, and especially love working with BIPOC actors.

Find a teacher that will help you meet your goals and will work with you to improve the skills you want to improve.

What kind of roles are you looking for, what companies/productions do you want to be cast in, and what level of commitment are you wanting to dedicate to honing your craft?
