I spent several years at Palomar College focused on Music Education and have a continued love and passion for music and learning. My students have gone on to be the top players in their schools. My focus is mainly in getting students the best start possible on their chosen instrument.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It all depends on the skill level of the student and Ilike to begin by evaluating this. If they are a beginner I like to begin by familiarising them with their new instrument and producing their first sounds. We can work on quality and control once they are able to consistently produce a sound, and not necessarily a good one.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked as a Brass and Jazz coach for 5 years at San Elijo Middle School and taught students for 7 years. I have played the Trumpet for 14 years and the Bagpipes for 17 years. I am familiar with all major styles and techniques associated with each instrumetn and am proficient in each as well as a variety of other instruments such as trombone, didgeridoo, ukulele.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing varies depending on the instrument. The list below provides my rates for each instrument.
Trumpet - $30
Bagpipe - $40
Didgeridoo - $20
Trombone - $20
Ukulele - $20
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in High School when I was approached by several parents of midde school students who wanted me to get their student started on the Trumpet.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginner students ranging in age from 10 to 55.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student should feel comfortable coming to their teacher with any question. I once had a student ask me to suspend our current lesson and teach him how to clean his trumpet. When asked why he sheepishly admitted to having had ants crawling around inside of it.
