Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We get you signed up- and start learning!! It's really simple and fast. You will need some type of piano or keyboard, and an electronic device if you are doing the online courses. Keyboards for the online program with a midi hookup is preferrable if you have one. Lessons range between 30 - 60 minutes once a week for in-person lessons.
We always start out with focusing on warm ups and technique. Then we review what you have worked on in the past week, and move on to new lessons and assignments. I offer an extremely wellrounded instruction, from posture and technique, concert and performance etiquette, to sight-reading, traditional learning, ear training, and composition. We tailor the lessons to you, and you are guaranteed to get personalized lessons and individualized attention.

I have been playing the piano since I was 7 years old. I grew up competing in all of the festivals and competitions, and studied music and piano pedegogy in high school and college. I have been teaching private and group piano lessons for over 16 years

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We just had a group party for all of my young beginners that passed off their first set of Step by Step books! It was so much fun to see them playing with the CD's and showing off their new skills to each other, while celebrating their common accomplishments, and relating to each other!
