Oksana Davis is a professional art instructor who works throughout Yorktown, Newport News, and Hampton areas of the Lower Peninsula in Virginia.
As an art instructor I am enjoying seeing the result of my work. Also, working with students, I have developed a specific approach in understanding their needs and goals, and it works very well.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At the beginning I usually finding out what the student already knows, or what is desirable to learn, so I can determine what to focus on. We also speak about the student’s goals, and then figure out the best way to proceed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have obtained the formal fine art education and I am working as a fine art instructor past 7 year.

My Lessons are 60 minutes long and are charged by the hour.
How did you get started teaching?
In some point of my life I have realized that I have something very good to share: a way how I see things, how I can depict them, how I can make them look tree-dimensional working on any two-dimensional surface, how to arrange them together creating a perfect composition, or how to evoke spectator's emotions and feelings; how to work with pencil, charcoal, pastel, ink, watercolor, acrylic or oil, how to paint monocromatique or full color picture, how to mix the paint, what type of paint is better for what, and etc.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, children, teenagers, mature adults, and 50+ audience.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice will be: Try as many teachers as you can afford to find the best one for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What exactly do I want?
