About

I have been working as a coach and director in the Richmond area for many years. Rather than boasting of my accomplishments In teaching acting and directing, I suggest you check out my website: keriwormald.com so you can see the quality of my work.

I am a storyteller and theatre maker. I love the process of figuring out the best way to tell a story. I find it more satisfying than the finished product. I enjoy working one on one as a coach and with casts. Which do I prefer? Working with young people on their craft or working professionally in the theater? It's a tossup, But working with actors probably has the edge over directing. Everyone I've ever worked with is like a great novel, and I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Keri has been such an influential teacher and mentor to me over the years. She has a way of getting to know you, as an actor and a person, and guiding you to not just play the character, but to understand your character and justify their humanity. She understands how to bring out the best in your work. You are enough, that is how she starts your journey. I have utilized her coaching throughout my life, whether Im onstage, in front of the camera, or even in an interview or presentation.

    Frequently asked questions

The most important thing is to get a sense of the students ultimate goals while also getting to know him/her/them, so I can plan my attack. Since no one can do their best work without being relaxed, that is also an important first step – creating a relaxed environment.

I have an MFA in directing from VCU, and an undergraduate degree in theater in broadcasting from JMU. I have had the opportunity to work in the UK at the Edinburgh Fringe festival for several years. I also did a post graduate theater course at the University of Lancaster. In 2006, I was a SURDNA Fellow which gave me the opportunity to work with several internationally-known artists in Aberystwyth, Wales, and I have had some training in Meisner technique and Rasaboxes with excellent instructors. I have been a professional Director for nearly 30 years.
