Actor training is training for life. Not only will acting skills serve you well on stage but will do so on the stage of life as well. As a theatre professor, I have taught acting for 38 years. I currently perform with the Inside-Out Playback Theatre Company and teach "life story theatre." I teach acting both for "scripted" theatre as well as improvisation. Acting is about connection--relationship, listening, and responsiveness in-the-moment. It's also about creating a virtual life, becoming another through active imagination and crafting the character's personal history. I am most enthusiastic about developing an aspiring actor's growth to professionalism.

I highly recommend working with John. As a previous acting student who has worked with John, he has a very organic approach to his teaching which makes the acting feel more natural and flow with ease. This allowed me to be more comfortable with acting, as well as develop each character assigned to me with a deeper understanding. John is laid back and a ton of fun to work with. He is inspiring and honest in all of his teaching. He has worked with so many students over the years who have produced the best acting Ive had the pleasure to see live and to work with myself. I grew so much as an actor during my time with John.
