Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start by evaluating where the student is in their knowledge of the instrument and music. Reviewing what they know and gradually or quickly add new skills and knowledge.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20 years of experience helping people have an enjoyable experience learning their instrument and how to relate it to the wider world of music. Piano teaching workshops with Harold Gray and others, Piano performance for piano majors at Porland State University 1994-1995, private lessons with Rein Vaga, Jodi Keppen and others for 6 years. Learning as an Adult helped me to be very aware of what teaching methods work and which do not work.
