About
I have been teaching since 2011 in Portland, OR, and my teaching has brought me to some very beautiful places throughout the Pacific NW. In our time together you can expect a grounding, strengthening, stabilizing, and inquisitive practice. I am nearly always in awe of the wisdom of curiosity, and aim to impart that to whomever I am sharing space with. I trust the capacity of these practices to reveal ourselves to ourselves over and over again; the philosophy of yoga can support us no matter where we are along the path of life, and one of my greatest joys is sharing it.
I utilize the yoga practice, somatic meditation, daily journaling, and both language- and sound-based modes of creation to expand my awareness of myself in the world, and hold as a mutable truth (while claiming zero authority on the truth) that each day we collaboratively make the world. Using the preternaturally wise words of Grace Lee Boggs "transform yourself to transform the world" as point of departure and return, I work to embody my trust in a world wherein everyone gets what they need, lives long and prospers, and counts all of life as one's kith and kin.
I have endless gratitude for these practices and all of the teachers I’ve been fortunate to study with along the way. Since taking my first class as an aging teen in the library of my high school, the various lineages of these practices and the currents of my life have lead me to the Shadow Yoga school, to which I am humbled and grateful.
I enjoy facilitating the space for people to have profound experiences of living inside of a body. It is a wonderous thing to behold. Getting to know people, forming relationships predicated on such established ground is delightful, I am very honored to be able to share this practice.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I attempt to get a clear understanding about what brings them to the practice by asking simple questions, and listening deeply. The yoga practice is such a deep space, and so it is my main priority to be a strong container for to hold whatever it is that comes through in our time together. I am also a very funny person, so it's inevitable that we'll laugh at least a little. Levity is the natural complement to gravity, and I attempt, always, to embody that.
