I was a swimmer on my high school swim team and I am continuing to swim in a club during college. I have worked as a swim instructor for over two years in two different buildings. I also guarded both of these pools. I have a good variety of experience in different group sizes. In one building I worked with large groups, reaching up to 13 children at a time. In the other building, I taught 1 to 5 students at a time. In addition, I have been tutoring math, science, Spanish, and ACT for many more years so I have ample experience explaining and helping others learn.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I normally begin asking questions about their experience and comfort level. I need to know where their skills are before I can help. I usually spend the first half or a little more of the first lesson testing their skills. Depending on ages and comfort, this could range from playing games to doing laps.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
During high school, I was apart of the swim team and I am continuing it into college. I am Lifeguard certified and was trained on the job to teach. I have been teaching swim lessons for more than two years and in addition to that, I tutored other school-related subjects before. I have taught parent-tot classes to kids in level 7 to adults as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have always worked for a business so never charged my students directly for teaching them. I believe that approximately 15 is reasonable compared to other businesses. Depending on the distance I must travel and the cost of admission the cost may vary. Since I am an individual and do not have set hours I am happy to reschedule for you.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring my friends and other children in math, science, and ACT. Once I was old enough I applied to work at the pool in my high school as an instructor and lifeguard.
What types of students have you worked with?
A full range from toddlers to adults and terrified swimmers to adults who can swim 500's.
