I like to do 30 min of reading music and music theory, and the other 30 min pick a fun song you want to learn, and I will learn it and teach it to you.

By smoothness of the exercise. If certain sections need work we go slow till we learn how to make that section smooth

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

first learn how to hold the guitar, and make a note sound using a scale. Then learn how to use a metronome to build speed. Then learn how to read music using Hal Leonard Book 1,2,3. Then graduating to college level reading book 1,2,3. Also learn tons of fun songs. Then learn how to switch open chords smooth. Then learn how to switch bar chords. Then learn 7th chords. Then learn every note on the guitar.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
