I've been teaching piano and voice in my home for 5 years. I love students from ages 3-93. I have a degree in Opera and Musical Theatre. I love performing in all styles and really developing students vocal technique for healthy and unique to each students voice. I also teach traditional piano lessons from beginners to intermediate.

I am a classically trained Opera singer. I have been teaching for 20 years. My students have come from all backgrounds of musical genres and all ages. My specialty is helping students develop good singing habits and become comfortable performing in the style they prefer. I encourage the student to bring in their choice of music as well as offering music in which I am familiar to teach them proper technique but not force them into a certain singing style. I love to help my students learn how to use their voices and develop confidence in singing what makes them happy....

I have been training healthy singers for over 18 years working with students of all ages and levels to accomplish their vocal goals. My teaching centers on a healthy foundation of classical technique that will provide the footing to sing in any style. My studio offers a supportive, energetic and creative approach to developing each voice as an individual and unique gift. I hold a doctorate in voice from the Ohio State University and a Master of Music in Opera performance from The Boston Conservatory. Learning to play an instrument involves practicing. Wow, what a stupid sounding statement. Practicing is only marginally profitable unless you know “how” to practice. I could tell you right here, in a few words, how to practice and you might say, “ Well, of course, anyone would know that.” The problem is, knowing and doing it two different things. I like to ask a new player, “What are you hoping to song or melody are you hoping to learn to play?” For me, this way of learning an instrument is a lot more fun than playing scales and arpeggios for years, in hopes to someday being able I to play some of the stuff really want.
