So many things! Not only is she very knowledgeable about what she teaches, but she's good at making it relatable and enjoyable. She's also firm enough to help me push forward while being gentle enough to boost morale and keep me confident rather than discouraged. Working with Barbara helped me develop a deeper love of music, experience growth in my musicianship, and develop confidence that helps me even outside of music lessons. Michael has been such a great teacher with my son. This was his first time taking piano lessons and Michael has done such a great job determining where to start and how to continue to best meet my son’s needs. He is patient and enthusiastic and always provides positive reinforcement. He starts off each lesson with an informal check in (how are you, how was your week) and then moves right into review and the weekly lesson. He communicates with me as well so I know how my son is progressing. This has been a really rewarding experience, not only for my son, but also for me to see the progress that he has been able to make with Michael. He is truly a remarkable piano teacher!
