Rameez S. says, "Marshal is a great teacher. My son is getting home lessons and I am quite happy with his progress. Marshal understands my child and tries new techniques at his level. Marshal listens to my child and talks to him which makes it easier for him to learn. Marshal is a decent man who talks less but makes sure he is working hard. Would definitely recommend him!" Michael C. says, "Aaron is quite excellent for piano accordion lessons. Patient and perceptive about where your current challenges/weaknesses lie and clever at proposing exercises/remedies for those weaknesses. Very low-key, easy-going, professional, and high quality teaching. Highly recommended with no reservations. " Read more

Vishank J. says, "I studied composition with Dr. Alden Jenks for four years, taking weekly private lessons with him. After this considerable length of time, I can say with confidence that Dr. Jenks is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable teachers I have ever had. His most salient strength is his deep knowledge of music, both Western Classical and other genres, driven by his passion for finding new motifs and sounds to inspire future compositions. Not only is Dr. Jenks a master of his craft, he is also a gifted instructor, with abundant patience and eagerness to guide the student into growing his or her own musical ideas to fruition. Our lessons would typically consist of me presenting the progression of my composition over the week, and an intriguing ensuing discussion of further possibilities, with frequent immersion into pertinent musical masterpieces, history and culture. Any student of Dr. Jenks will be sure to improve their composition ability, both through guided practice, and grounded in a musical lore necessary to broaden one’s musical thinking. In addition, by conversing with Dr. Jenks regularly and following his guidance through the vast musical landscape, any student will find his or her overall musical appreciation and knowledge broadening exponentially, and through regular inspiration by the great works, will feel continually replenishing enthusiasm to create music of his or her own. I also cannot overemphasize the positive impact of Dr. Jenks’ warm, welcoming, patient personality on the ambiance of our lessons together, which was essential for me to erase my fear of trying new musical ideas, in service of creativity. For me, Dr. Jenks’ lessons were life-changing, and though I am not a musician, a large part of my present love and appreciation of music is derived from our four years of experiences together. I strongly recommend Dr. Jenks to any prospective student." Read more

Marshal is not only a gifted musician but also highly skilled at teaching. Marshal infuses music theory into his lessons, helping me understand the meaning behind the notes. He also uses personalized techniques to help with proper hand placement and reading sheet music. As an adult student, I was nervous about picking up an instrument but Marshal customized his curriculum to my learning style, characteristics and ability, making my journey with the piano an enjoyable yet challenging experience! I've been working with Marshal for only a few months and I've made great strides in my ability to both read sheet music and play the piano. He's also very patient and highly personable! I highly recommend working with Marshal. Very excited for my future lessons and continued piano skills growth!

Aaron has helped me a lot. Especially improving my left hand capabilities. He is familiar with many different styles of music. He is also very good at figuring out how to play pieces that were not written for accordion.

I took private lessons with Jon for almost two years in high school. He was always very knowledgeable and helpful, and was a major factor in my success those years in making All State and other Honor Bands. I only stopped taking lessons when I moved away for college, or else I'd still be taking them now! He was always organized and easy to schedule with. Definitely my best experience with a Private Instructor to date!
