I have been performing as a soloist since the age of four and teaching almost all my life. I take on very few students as I have a full time performing life but those I do have are all united by being exceptional in their own fields and just simply love music. I take a 3D approach to teaching. I teach the philosophers, history, and theory around the pieces and offer separate supporting classes in those to their principal lessons. I have been teaching privately and performing many years in this area. I have a Bachelors of Music in performance, clarinet major, with minors on flute and piano. My goal is to bring each student up to their highest level, breaking typical norms set by age or grade. Also, as ensemble playing is so important from the earliest stages, I play along with lesson material and play duets with students as often as possible.
