Acoustic and electric guitar lessons aren't the same because these are two entirely different instruments with unique equipment features.
Learning to play electric guitar requires:
- Knowing how to use an amplifier and pedals that create sound effects
- Understanding how to adjust the speaker connection
- Knowledge of genres like rock, metal, blues, and jazz
- Special techniques like power chords, palm muting, and string bending
Learning to play an acoustic guitar means you focus on classical, folk, country, pop, or blues music. A pick is optional in acoustic lessons, and you don't need amplifiers or cables. Acoustic teachers also place more emphasis on fingerpicking patterns.
