About
I'm a lifelong gun enthusiast. I grew up hunting and shooting and have always been obsessed with gun safety. I taught my daughters how to safely handle, and respect firearms at a very young age, like my dad did with me. While I have always loved hunting and recreational shooting, and have always kept guns in my house and vehicles for defense, a while back I decided to start carrying a gun every day and to start training to use handguns for self defense. I decided to share my passion with others and became an NRA Certified Instructor. I provide education and training with a focus on Concealed Carry and Home Defense. I keep my classes small and also offer private training. My goal is to help my students become confident, and responsibly armed citizens that can help make our communities, schools, and churches safer.
I love working with both new, and experienced shooters. Whether you're wanting to expand your knowledge of firearms, or learning how to shoot a handgun effectively, or build defensive shooting skills, or learn about the concealed carry lifestyle, I can help you with your goals. Unlike a lot of classes out there, I teach much more than just how to shoot. My concealed carry course includes situational awareness, mental conditioning, laws applicable to concealed carry, home defense, and use of deadly force, what to do (and what not to do) after a self defense shooting, and much more. I've had several students say that I covered things that they had never thought of before. I love helping people learn new skills and watching their confidence grow!

How did you get started teaching?
Noticing the increasingly dangerous world we live in, especially over the last couple of years with the riots, and civil unrest we have witnessed, I wanted to start helping people become more educated on their 2nd Amendment rights, and help them get trained in armed self defense. Gun ownership, and especially carrying a concealed handgun, comes with a huge amount of responsibility. Part of that responsibility is to be well educated, and committed to training on a regular basis. That is what motivated me to become an instructor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people that have never shot a handgun before, and people with years of experience. I've worked with people that have been around guns their whole lives but have just now decided to carry concealed.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my recent concealed carry classes had several young ladies that had just purchased handguns and gotten their pistol permits. It was very rewarding to work with them and have them say that they were more comfortable and confident after taking my class!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Decide what your main goals are and seek out qualified instructors that provide the education and training you are looking for. Make sure the instructor is certified and has a good reputation and positive reviews. Do they teach like a drill sergeant, or do they take the time to work with each student individually? Are their past students satisfied with their experience and do they recommend the instructor?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am I willing to learn with an open mind?
What do I want to walk away with after taking this class?
Why do I think I need this training?
