I am a retired Art teacher with 14 years of teaching experience. I am certified in both AP Art and IB Visual Arts . I have a Bachelor of Communication Graphics Degree, a Bachelor of Art, with a minor in Photography, English and Advertising.
I taught for Huntsville City Schools for 13 years and in the private sector for 1 year. I have worked as a freelance artist and photographer for the past 20 years.
As a teacher, I believe the journey is as important, if not more important than the outcome. I want my students to learn about themselves as they create. I emphasize how to work with the mistakes that are made during the process and how to "Talk Art".

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk to the student to find out their goals and create lessons designed to find individual strengths and weaknesses. I customize each student lesson according to personal goals sprinkled with exercises designed to promote growth of both technical skills and creative thinking.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Private Lessons are $30.00 per 2 hour session. All supplies are included in this price.
Group Lessons of 2 or more are $20 per 2 hour session. All supplies are included in this price.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with Pre-K - 12th grade. I have taught Special Needs, Autistic, and older students with Alzhiemers.
