I believe art instruction is an essential part of any curriculum. Some educators tend to place a low value on art education compared to traditional core subjects like mathematics, language arts and science, but I think art often stimulates a different type of student growth compared to other classes. For instance, my classroom as an art teacher creates a space for students to explore their creativity, express themselves, understand their identities and connect deeply with their communities. I started off stick figuring at the age of 8 and ever since I developed a passion for art. I am now in 30 years old and I can say I have came a long way, from learning on my own to teaching other students who loves crafting or creating artwork, I'm not saying I am perfect but choose me and we both will learn together.
