FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

GameStyle Basketball Training Instructor will sit with each family to understand the level of every incoming child.. We will develop a plan to enhance the skill set of each child.. We will determine the limitations and areas of opportunity that are hindering each child from unlocking their full potential and becoming and impact player.. It's going to be an amazing experience seeing the growth and development of each child on and off the court..

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've always been a detail oriented person regarding the game of basketball and development.. Even from a young age (11yrs old) I trained and mentored my younger friends in the game of basketball.. It's a gift and a calling on my life to teach the game of basketball.. I've played my entire life and was fortunate to receive a basketball scholarship to Arizona State University.. I've received several accolades, won several championships, and broke and set several records.. More importantly than any of my individual success, I've mastered how to teach other players to achieve unimaginable opportunities to play basketball at the collegiate level.. I've worked several ASU Basketball Camps.. Trained several players at the YMCA and I9 Levels.. Trained several successful High School and College Players..

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing For GameStyle Basketball Academy ranges from $250-$500 a month depending on the level of each child and what skill sets they'll be enhancing..

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching basketball after making a huge impact with kids at my first basketball camp at Arizona State University..

Parents asked me to continue working with their child after the camp.. I was elated.. I chose to only work with 4 players who were all different levels for two years.. Once, I saw the drastic changes I helped all 4 players obtain I knew I had found my niche.. All four player's received scholarships to play college basketball..

What types of students have you worked with?

I've worked with beginners- Players who  decide to pick up a ball for the first time in I9 and The YMCA.. I've worked with mid level-Players who have been playing for 5 years or more on Middle School and High School Teams..  I've also worked with advanced- Players who have played 10 years or more Collegiate Athletes..

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I made a blindfolded shot from the free throw line area after doing a two ball handling dribble move, on my first attempt..

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The advice I would give a student looking to hire a teacher in my area would be don't assume the same thing will happen for you that's happening for another student.. Look for someone who will make learning and developing challenging but fun.. Please make sure most importantly the teacher has your very best interest at heart..

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should think through their goals and timeline for development.. Students should also be prepared to receive open and honest feedback regarding the development process..  The student should also want to ask about the progressive plan of action to enhance their skill set..
