About

I am experienced an trained in both drawing and painting. My subject matter includes, mastering the portrait, human figures, landscapes, still life and animals. Anything you wish to draw or paint, I can help you improve your skills.

I have a passion for painting something ordinary and making it extraordinary on canvas or paper. My expertise is portrait and figure painting. I enjoy the challenge of painting the human figure accurately, making the human figure come to life.

I love color, I use it in a way that is attractive in a way that people who know my work, recognize my paintings immediately.

Frequently asked questions

I want to know what experience the student has and see their past works.

Based on their skills level, I will be able to add and help fine tune their artistic abilities.

I have 22 years painting full-time.  I have studied painting and drawing for two years in college and have taken workshops at the Scottsdale Artist's School in Scottsdale, AZ.

I also teach youth art workshops on the Navajo Reservation throughout the year.

Yes.  $35 an hour.

My artist father and I created a youth art workshop in New Mexico as a way of giving back to our community and hometown about 7 years ago

I have worked with youth, ages 3rd grade to 12th grade.

I have also taught, adults who were interested in becoming professional painters.

My last workshop I taught was in July of 2022.  It was a 3 day workshop where I taught fundamentals and did a demonstration to my students.  I had them choose two of their favorite paintings and had them shown in an exhibition right after the show where the public was invited to see.

First, see their paintings.  Decide if the instructor's work is something your inspired and impressed by.  Choosing an instructor's whose work you love will make you want to rise up and be a better painter.

Then look at teaching experience.  The more experience, the better the lessons will go.

Students should ask themselves, "what do I want to accomplish with taking lessons?"

"Does the instructor paint in a style that I like or am attracted to?"

"Based on the instructors painting skill and teaching experience, do I trust that this instructor will help me become a better painter?"
