Thomas has continued to educate me on everything from the ground up and really flush out the roadmap of how to be a better pianist. he also always takes the time to answer any questions and help me understand anything Im curious about. His teaching style is very diverse and makes everything a bit more comprehensible, especially for someone new to the entire theory side of things. I have learned more in the 6 weeks Ive been learning from him than I did in a year of self study. I cannot recommend him enough for any level of piano player, whether brand new or experienced.

Frequently asked questions

When I get a new student for piano, flute or sax I will question them about any previous training they may have had to ascertain their current ability level. If they have had prior training I will ask them to play their best piece(s) to give me a better idea of their skill level is. I will inquire what their reasons/goals are for studying music and then I will design a custom program that will help them achieve their goals. If they are starting from scratch I like to instill sound fundamentals from the beginning. For my woodwind students I test their instruments to see that they are working properly. My goal as a teacher is to raise the students performance ability to new heights and to instill the sheer joy of playing music.

I started playing piano when I was six years old and had several teachers through my adolescence and teen years. I began playing flute and saxophone in my teens and since I was already accomplished on piano I decided to get a degree in woodwind performance from Berklee College of Music.

Lessons are $25.00 per half hour and I charge by the month. Typically it's $100.00 per month for 4 half hour lessons. Sometimes there are 5 lesson days in a month and the price is $125.00. Lessons continue on a monthly basis for as long as the student wishes to study. There are no long term contracts or obligations required.

I gravitated into teaching while working at a music store. As I got more into it I developed my own system of training based off of my success as a professional performer and my education from Berklee College of Music which in my opinion, is second to none. I also teach what I call "Mentoring". I show students who are interested in playing professionally how to break into the business. It's one thing to be able to play an instrument, it's a whole another thing to be able to get payed to do it. I can show you how!
