Trauma-Informed Children's Yoga

Due to COV19, my lessons are held online zia zoom.

In 2004/2005, I found trauma-sensitive yoga while being cognitively treated for Complex PTSD; then, I found a regular integrative therapeutic yoga practice.  The practices helped me overcome my physical ailments, panic attacks, and night terrors and develop better self-awareness, self-regulation and self-responsibility, and self-compassion. It was incredible how much I changed for the better by including yoga (bodywork) into my healing. I knew I would share yoga with others to help them feel and be well.

Beginners to advanced yoga students, children, tweens, teens, and adults.

Practicing yoga regularly with my own family, as well as exploring the outdoors.

Keep and an open mind and feel free to try a variety of teachers and styles, you'll enjoy them and learn in the process.  Notice when you are judging and uncomfortable, and try to sit with this and breathe through it.

Yoga is a personal practice, find a teacher that resonates with you. A place and teacher you look forward to seeing and feel comfortable with.

Yoga is fun and can be incredibly healing, as well as change the way you think, feel and perceive yourself and the world.

Learning tobe' and being true to yourself is of utmost importance in the practice of yoga.  Keep showing up, even on days you might only do 25% of the practice.  I always invite my students to respect and listen to their bodies in every moment - it isn't about what I tell them to do, it is how their body and mind are feeling. Do what you can and honor yourself for where you are at.

Ask questions and don't judge without honest curiosity and conversation - get to know a teacher if you want to, and let them get to know you if you feel safe doing so.

How do you want to feel?

What are your fears/concerns?

What is the one most important thing you would like to learn and/or walk away with?
