About

Hello! My name is PJ Lenorovitz and I am an artist. My love of art begin with the first crayon drawing my mother taped to the refrigerator door and over the years it is taken me a lot of places, shown me a lot of possibilities, inspired me to do a lot of work and brought me a lot of satisfaction. I’ve experimented and worked in a number of mediums, but drawing and painting are the two that have always remained with me.

Drawing and painting allow you to learn to see what is around you. That is one of the most important things you can learn as an artist. Drawing and painting are the basis for those. Once you learn that you can go in any direction you want, with any medium you would like to play with. They are also a wonderful source of meditation.

My resume begins in middle school where I had private art lessons. After high school I went to Loretto heights college in Denver Colorado where I obtain a bachelor playing arts and painting. Over the years I’ve taken various seminars covering mediums such as colored pencil, glass etching and carving, and different mediums when it comes to painting.

I have taught some seminars on basic colored pencil techniques and Glass carving as well as classes in drawing and painting. I have also taught beginning drawing and advanced drawing as well as oil painting basics.

I have exhibited and shown my art throughout Colorado and Arizona as well as Texas.

If you would care to see some of my work my website is pjlenorovitzart.com

I am looking forward to drawing and painting with you soon!

Watching the pleasure people gain from realizing they can draw! Many people believe they can't draw. I believe anyone can draw. You just have to know some basics!

    Frequently asked questions

Students will begin with the basics by going over the equipment used, and how to use it. They will learn about line, texture, color theory, perspective and the use of light and dark.   They will learn about positive and negative space and scale and as they progress they will begin to learn about mood and how to develop their own style and they will find what they enjoy drawing and painting.  Hopefully most of all they will learn about the joy of drawing and painting and how it has a calming affect. Art allows you a chance to get away from the every day and look for what is in you.

     Private lessons.

Bachelor of fine arts from Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colorado.

Milan art institute in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Private lessons are $20 an hour per person.

Group lessons are $15 an hour per person.

     Drawing lessons are an hour.

Painting lessons  are an hour long. However, we can go longer than that if the student chooses to.

A list of supplies will be given to each student prior to the first class. Students will be paying for their own supplies,  and I can either help them with the list by helping them choose items or they can do it on their own.

I begin teaching when people started showing an interest in what I was doing and how I was doing it. At that time I decided that maybe it was time for me to start working with people and letting them learn the joys of art.

I have worked with students ranging in age from 10 years of age up to ?.  They have come from all walks of life, and each knows how much they want to learn. And what direction they want to go in.   If I can, I try to let them choose the direction they want to go by choosing subjects that interest them.   This can cover a wide range of subjects, and interest allowing me to continue to learn more along the way!

My 10-year-old student has been with me for a while now. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch her develop over the past months, and to see hergaining confidence in herself and her work.

Be sure to ask questions, and let them know what direction you’re interested in going. What level are you at, have you done drawing before, or is this something brand new to you. This will help the teacher develop a program specifically for you.

Be sure you’re clear on the cost of the lessons, and whether they will be private or group lessons.

Specify with the teacher whether you want to do simply drawing or painting or both.

Simply talk with the teacher for a while and make sure you both feel comfortable with each other and the class plans.
