About
I am a licensed, certified art teacher with 13 years of experience in public education. I now offer classes or of my home studio for children, teens, and adults.
What makes us unique is our three-pronged approach to teaching art: history, technique, and expression. Our lessons include examples of work from master artists, an introduction to the relevant elements and principals of design, and the portion to create your own unique work using the information given to you.
It is not about art for the sake of art, but art for self building and expression!

I love working alongside my students and learning from them as they learn. While I might be the one with training it is always super exciting to see someone make a project their own.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually have an intake meeting with the student where we talk about thier goals in taking lessons. They let me know how many classes they are wanting to take and I design a curriculum to help them meet their goals in that time-frame. If the student wishes, I can also provide independent lessons that can be worked on between classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in Theatre Arts Education where I took classes in stage make-up, scenic design/construction, and costume design/construction. In addition to the classes for my major, I took several art classes that lead to me testing into my position as an art teacher. I have continued my education through personal study, daily practice, and several mentors in different fields along the way.
