Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will have a free consultation for our first meeting. This helps me find out where you are, not only musically, but also learn a little bit about you or your child's personality to best aid in tailoring the lessons to be most effective. There is no one-size-fits all when it comes to learning a new skillset, so it's important to spend that time together discussing your musical desires and what I can do to help you achieve your goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began playing the piano at the age of 4 when I was enrolled in classical lessons with a formally-trained pianist with 60+ years of experience. In my early-teen years, I was giving lessons to kids in my neighborhood and by my mid-teens, was granted a spot after auditioning for one of the country's most elite performing arts high schools where I ultimately graduated with top honors.
I taught for over 12 years with a local music school in addition to filling my outside available hours with private students. I am well-experienced with student of all ages, typically beginning at 4-years and have gone all the way up to 88. I enjoy working with students in all walks of life from the very earliest beginner with no experience at all, to highly proficient and experienced pianists needing extra instruction to couple with their current skillset.
