What makes us different?
Students learn songs of their choice in any style or genre; while also learning music fundamentals (technique, theory, rhythms, etc.)
All of our instructors have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Music, have 9 or more years of teaching experience, and are up to speed with popular music styles
All lesson materials are customized to the student's age, interests, and goals (different programs for different ages and styles)
We provide a balance of quickly attainable short term goals, and long term goals to keep you feeling accomplished in the moment; while also keeping you challenged & moving forward
Students are given specific practice goals so they know exactly what to do at home in the practice room
We teach adult beginners as well as children ages 5 and up
Professional office location with teaching rooms and lobby area (see photos on this page)
Instructor/Schedule Consistency: students stay with the same instructor at the same day/time every week
Coordinated lesson times are available for multiple family members

has been offering music lessons in Phoenix, AZ since 1994.
We help people connect with music in their own way by customizing all lesson plans to each students individual interests & goals.
We currently offer lessons for all ages, levels, and styles on the following instruments: Guitar (electric, acoustic, classical, jazz), Ukulele, Voice, Piano/Keyboard, Mandolin & Bass
We also offer lessons on Songwriting, Music Business, How to Sell mp3's online, Audition Prep, Music Theory & Composition.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The lessons are structured, so the student will gain a strong foundation in music, AND we incorporate songs of your choice. So it's the perfect balance of fundamentals and fun!
In general, you will have several areas of practice goals: technique & warm ups, songs of your choice, chords and music fundamentals. However the lessons are customized to your individual goals and interests, so your lessons would focus on what you requested.
All lesson materials are customized to the student's age, interests, and goals.
We are currently accepting students of all ages and we have different programs structured appropriately for different ages and styles.

Amy K's professional experience includes:

♫ Appearances in Fender magazines & catalogs for the New American Strat, Grand Nylon & Charvel guitars
♫ Bachelor's of Music in Classical Guitar Performance: graduated Summa Cum Laude; Music Major of the Year Award recipient
♫ Performing classical guitarist at corporate & private events, guitar orchestra, concert halls & various ensembles
♫ Performing electric guitarist in various original & cover; rock & progressive rock bands
She continues to write & record while owning, operating & teaching at Amy K Music.
