About
I love teaching guitar! I am very patient and understanding of the beginner guitar student. Everyone learns at their own pace. I have been playing and teaching electric and acoustic guitar for over 25 years. My method gives a beginner guitar player a great foundation to build from. It is important to keep the learning experience fun and exciting. The first several lessons are laid out to master basics and peppered with tips and tricks to speed up technical ability. The student will be equipped to tackle many different styles of music. Plus we start working on those songs you want to play as soon as possible! Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, Christian Rock, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock..you name it, we can work on it.
I have been playing and teaching acoustic and electric guitar for over 25 years and enjoy teaching all levels of experience from Beginner rhythm guitar to Lead Guitar and Theory. I also enjoy playing and teaching all genres of music!
I played professionally for 20 years in several working Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Alternative, Country, and Blues based bands.
I started many years ago teaching with my kids. I then started teaching friends who asked me to teach them. I had several friends tell me I should be a "real" guitar teacher because of my patience and passion. I then realized how rewarding it was to share my knowledge with others and see them grow as players and music lovers. The guitar has brought me so much joy over the years, I like to share that with others.
I have many reviews from past and current students! Workining on getting them to my profile.
Playing music has brought me great joy over the years! I love to share that with others and show them how playing guitar can really change your life. I love to see the look on a students face when they have that "aha" moment.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Chat a bit and get to know them. Find out their goals/reason for wanting to learn. Ask what there favorite genere of music is. Find out if they are a real begginer or if they are experianced and want some specific instruction. We also talk what kind of guitar they are interested in playing. I also have guitars for students to try if they do not own one yet.
