I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years, diver for 6, beach volleyball 4, track and field and other sports. Been a fitness trainer for 20 years. I have taught gymnastics for 20 years and swimming lessons 27 years now. I love working with all ages and abilities, special needs included. My passion is teaching and inspiring all to never give up, do their best and build confidence. I also have done 2 years of online fitness/Personal Training classes to worldwide customers.
That I can see success in every person I meet. Seeing people reach theri goals is one of the most rewarding jobs besides raising my family.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Tumbling-I like to first assess strength and flexibility, then go over any skills he/she knows or wants to learn, then discuss goals and time frame. I really work on tecnique and aim to prevent injuries by gaining strenthg and flexibility while learning new skills.
With swimming lessons, I go over whether you have a pool or access to one, then discuss goals to determine what class, group or pirvate lessons etc.
Also, my husband is an OT who works with special needs children in the pool or tumbling, balance, core and more.
Personal training or fitness classes I want to know your current exercise status, goals, time committment etc.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching swimming lessons since 1991, got my degree in 1999 in Exercise Science, been a pertsonal trainer with numerous certifications since then, taught tumbling/gymnastics since 1997 and stay current on my ceritifcations, always learning and gaining more knowledge so I can share what I know with all my clients. Recently MUTU Pro certified to help women with postpartum pelvic floor and diastasis recti issues.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Tumbling-group lessons are $12 a class and private are $30 for 30 min sessions, $45 for 45 min and $55 for 60 min.
Swimming-$80 for 8x30 min group lessons, $135 for 4x20 min lessons or 8x10 min lessons (6mo-3 yrs)
Personal Training and fitness classes - prices vary depending on private packages or group classes etc. Anywhere from $100/10-12 classes to $30-$55 for personal training.
How did you get started teaching?
I was an active little toddler so my mom put my twin sister and I in gymnastics since 2.5 years old. I competed for 10 years, level 10 and quit due to so many injuries then moved onto, volleyball, track, diving into college years. I have always loved being active and started teaching swimming since I was 14 years old. I have a passion for it and love seeing the joy people attain from gaining confidence in themselves that they can do hard things.
What types of students have you worked with?
SWIM-I work with 6 mo to adults, all abilities and have worked with many special needs children and some adults, as well as athletes to perfect their stroke.
Tumbling- typically 18 mo to teen, all skills and special needs.
Adult Fitness-all ages but average age is 40-60
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I carried my twin girls to 35 weeks after numerous complications during pregnancy and post partum, and In Utero surgery at 19.5 weeks. Grateful for our miracles.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you are compatible, they build your confidence, and tailor your goals to you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are your goals, how much time do you have to accomplish them, and what level of committment.
