About
I've been teaching art since 2012, after I graduated with my BFA in Studio Art. I specialize in painting and drawing.
I love art and making art and I am passionate about sharing that with others. I love seeing my students succeed and improve, whether they're beginners or more advanced.
I learned that I LOVE teaching, especially to my community members because you are really wanting to learn. You are there to enjoy your time making art, harnessing a new skill in a theraputic atmosphere. I love seeing my students succeed in their goals, and realize they can draw, paint, or sculpt.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out exactly what my student wants to learn and then we work towards their goals together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA degree in studio art from Brigham Young University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Generally I charge $30/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I graduated with my degree in Studio Art and my sister wanted me to apply for a teaching position at the local community center. I was not interested in this at all, but she basically applied for me and I got an interview. While at the interview I was relaxed and not nervous simply because I didn't care if I got it or not. I did end up getting it and it changed my life! I learned that I LOVE teaching, especially to my community members because they are really wanting to learn. They are there to enjoy their time making art, harnessing a new skill, and making new friends in a theraputic atmosphere.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with kids as young as three all the way up to adults as old as 80. I have taught students who focus on one thing and create a beautiful work of art. These have included a portrait in oil, a still life in watercolor, a contemporary work in acrylic. Other students want an overview, this lets them discover what they are really interested in. It also gives them the tools and techniques they need to continue on their own. I tailor my lessons to each student to best fill their needs and desires.
