About

I am an intuitive mixed media artist and illustrator that loves to blend basic art lessons along with the necessary emotional deep-dive that my meditative art practices help provide. I hope to help my students find their own inner voice and find what they REALLY want to say with their art, rather than using forced imagery to say it for them.

I love teaching others how to express themselves through meditative art. Helping others learn an easy way to find their inner peace and answers within themselves is what gives me the greatest feeling of fulfillment, and so I chase that feeling constantly through my students, for which I am eternally grateful to them.

I also love watching new artists find their creative voice, learn new skills, and unearth forgotten or undiscovered passions through artistic exploration. Nothing is more thrilling than watching someone find that deep well of passion within themselves, which we all truly possess!

    Frequently asked questions

The first lesson is all about loosening up and not thinking about what you're making, but instead letting the subconscious take the reigns. We try to get as "removed" from our ego as much as possible, using meditative exercises while drawing and painting in various media.

As an image starts to form, I assist the artist in finding what symbols or insights are coming through from their work, how to follow their emotions as a creative theme, and help guide them past any creative blocks that might arise.

I create alongside my students using the same methods and exercises so we go on this creative, emotional journey together.

I taught art lessons as a form of babysitting and created my own courses of children's art classes at the local art center when I was a teenager. This turned into a trickle of private art tutoring after college.

Later after my move to NYC, I felt the urge to teach again, and so I started teaching after-school art programs at Boys Club New York to students from ages 4 to 19. This included studio art, illustration, fashion design, and multimedia design.

I've since picked up private tutoring again and am hoping to incorporate my own creative practices in these lessons rather than being solely focused on teaching specific technical skills. While my lessons will touch on these aspects as well, my biggest goal is to help my students unlock the creative passion they have within themselves and how to beautifully express their most inner emotions.

I've taught art classes (painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, sculpture, pottery, sewing, fashion design, etc.) to children from ages 4 to 19 from all types of different backgrounds, from the middle of NYC to small-town Iowa.

I've also led group painting tutorials for private entertainment companies (paint-and-sip parties), teaching the basics of painting to students from all walks of life.

Most recently, I've held private tutoring zoom lessons with young students who weren't getting their art education needs met when Covid was at its peak.

Working with my most recent online student was extremely rewarding. At the young age of 9, he was already developing as a talented illustrator, but after just a few lessons together and some tricks I taught him, his illustrations started improving tenfold. It was truly impressive to watch him find his artistic voice so quickly once he had the basic skills down!

When looking for an intuitive art teacher, you want to find someone you feel completely comfortable being yourself and can emotionally engage with. I strive to always be as loving and accepting as my heart can manage, but if I don't feel like the right fit for you, that's more than understandable. Art creation is a very personal experience, and so I hope to be not just an instructor to my students, but a friend you can trust as well.
