About
I work and teach in many mediums and artistic styles. I have a wide range of artistic and technical experiences. From a 2000 square foot mural on a building to mechanical design drawings on the International Space Station, to a funny Caricature of 2 famous hosts of ESPN Pardon the Interruption. I can find many different ways to accomplish a task working around or with student's different abilities. Every student learns differently, I do not take the same approach for each student. I work with each student where they are and with what they want to work on - not a set schedule and lesson plan.
I do definitely tech technically sound and age old processes, as well as tips and tricks from over 30 years in business and 45 as an artist.
Another important ability I offer is my successful experience working with students age from 3-104, some with common to very uncommon differences or abilities (i.e. Autism Spectrum, ALS, Completely Blind, Macular Degeneration, ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and more)
For 28+ years I have owned and operated my Murals by Nora, creating murals, custom faux finishes, commissioned canvas artwork, portraits and more for a wide range of people and businesses. My largest mural is over 2,000 square feet, on a Historic Buliding exterior in Oklahoma. My smallest artwork is 2"*3", and every size in between.
Meeting and working with so many different types of people. Seeing and understanding how differently everyone learns. Not to mention the artwork itself, in all mediums. Helping the student realize they can create art no matter what. My Studio is open 7 days a week from 10am till Midnight. I'm on horse property so I even have a huge pasture, 2story Red Oak Barn and Lots of trees for Plein Air artwork.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A meet and greet at my studio. A look around at my artwork so the student can see some of my style. I talk with the student to find out what they are interested in as far as art goes. I ask about any previous experience, what supplies they might have on hand, and ask what type of artwork they are interested in starting with. I show and explain what all I have in my studio, the different medium supplies, drafting tables, easels, products etc. We discuss class days and times they are interested in. Im available from 10am until midnight 7 days a week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ive successfully worked with students with various differences and abilities including; ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum, ALS, Macular Degeneration, Alzheimers, Dimentia, Totally Blind (yes, it was incredible), defiance disorders. I successfully work with ALL different types of people, art is a very adaptable area, even spanning Language and cultural barriers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Very young students who grasp and excel are a pleasure to watch and work with. To be able to pass ony knowledge and love of art to very young is a honor. Working with people of advanced ages who have never gotten the chance to really pursue their desire is GREAT.
My One Woman art show that was stressful and very successful. Working with people who are convinced they can not "even draw a straight line" but they are thrilled when they create a great piece of art.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick a teacher you like talking to, you like the different styles of artwork they produce, you feel comfortable in their studio.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask if they have created artwork similar to what you are interested in. Find out if they will let you change or move on when you want to. Make sure they are not going to "just touch up a little" on Your artwork when you are not at the studio. Some teachers "fix" after hours. Ask what mediums they can teach, what their experience is. Ask to see their artwork.
