Offensive Strategies
Pass and Move – After passing the ball, don't stand still—cut, screen, or reposition to create space and opportunities.
Give-and-Go – Pass the ball to a teammate, then quickly move toward the basket to receive a return pass for an easy shot.
Pick and Roll – Set a screen for a teammate with the ball, then roll towards the basket for a scoring opportunity.
Spacing the Floor – Avoid clustering in one area; spread out to make it harder for defenders to cover everyone.
Fast Break – Push the ball quickly down the court after a defensive stop to catch the opposing team off guard.
Defensive Strategies
Stay Between Your Man and the Basket – Always position yourself between your assigned player and the hoop.
Keep Hands Up – This makes it harder for the opponent to pass or shoot over you.
Man-to-Man Defense – Each defender is responsible for guarding one specific player.
Zone Defense – Instead of guarding a player, you cover an area of the court, useful for beginners learning positioning.
Help Defense – Be aware of teammates who may need help defending their man and be ready to assist.
General Tips
Communicate – Talk to your teammates on defense and offense.
Dribble with Purpose – Don’t just dribble aimlessly; move with intent to drive, pass, or set up a play.
Box Out – When a shot goes up, use your body to block opponents from getting the rebound.
Stay Low and Ready – A low stance helps with balance, quick movements, and defensive positioning.
