16 hrs and nearly 1000 carbine rounds fired... what’s not to like. Aside from the trigger time, I thought the drills were applicable to situations you may find yourself in, and appreciated Dave’s philosophy with regards to always moving towards the threat in order to eliminate it as quickly as possible through dynamic and decisive movements, instead of taking reacting defensively...I appreciated Dave’s laid back demeanor as well, as it made for an enjoyable time. Thank you Miles, and thank you Dave

This was my first interaction / course taken with the Tactical Hyve (TH) crew. Me and two buddies took the Tactical Pistol & Carbine (Day/Nigh Shoot) Course at CowTown Range in far NE Phoenix. It’s evident to me that Myles (the owner of TH) really does hunt for perfection in terms of his business, and it shows in course design and instructor affiliation. Dave S. (our primary Instructor) along with “Delta” Dave (AI) were top notch teachers. Having real world experience as an operator is great, but what distinguishes the Dave(s) is their fluid ability to impart that knowledge onto an intermediate civilian student. I felt sufficiently supervised and safe the entire course, and coached with a firm hand without feeling bullied. The moving and shooting drills honed my existing skill set and polished exactly what I needed to work on. The class was engaging, interesting, demanding, and yet fun at the same time. A perfect combo. I left a better more knowledgeable and capable shooter, and even more important, left the course with critical teaching points that make me a better thinker. Highly recommend and will bring more friends next time. - Joel M - Phoenix, AZ

This was an excellent firearms training class! This skills sets covered were of utmost importance to me. Practicing transitions from rifle to pistol in both day and night settings, with white light integration were high priority skills for my training needs. The instructors’ attitude, encouragement and communication toward helping students progress was excellent and far better than any I’ve ever received/experienced in any firearms training class I’ve ever attended.

Great course and awesome feedback for what’s a relatively short amount of time watching us shoot. I was able to change things real time and see/ feel the difference. The shoot in took a while but I think we made up for it on the shoot out which went very smooth. A third shot timer probably would have made it go faster the first-go but it’s a small suggestion.

I also definitely would have liked a gear critique. Even a quick one on one “why do you run __ that way” and a suggestion on how to set up more efficiently if the answer is “I dont know.”

Again, it was an outstanding course and I’ll be back for more!

By far, THE best firearms class I’ve ever taken! Makes some of the others look like child’s play!
