Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'm very practical and hands on with how I teach... I want to get you involved and do get you shooting as quickly as possible and refine from there...
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certified graphic artist
How did you get started teaching?
I have a genuine love for passing on valuable information, being the recource I didn't have early on.
What types of students have you worked with?
Varying degrees of prople... hobby photographers who are brand new... to people looking to expand into post edit and learn photoshop and lightroom.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I really enjoy shooting weddings. The whole experience is a joy... the smiles, the laughter, the love... I recently worked with an amazing couple and captured the day for them. I loved their energy!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who matches the way you like to learn. I'm all about energy and connection (have to be I guess lol) and you should feel comfortable with the pace and depth at which you're being taught. If you're more of a reading and writing person? Books and charts? Great!! Or if you're more "give me a camera and let's go on location and teach me as we go" that's great too!!... Find a teacher who will maximize your learning experience...
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Having a good honest idea of where you already are in your knowledge and craft... and where you'd like to be? What kind of photography do you want to specialize? Is this more business or hobby??
