About
I studied under some of the best trumpet instructors in the business and approach teaching to a variety of different learning styles (one size does NOT fit all). I love empowerment and transformation and believe that is the foundation of true progress and success, which is why I focus on bettering the whole person...and not just on making them a better musician/trumpet player. I am also very flexible with scheduling.
I love finding solutions to problems and watching students' faces when they get that "aha!" moment; when something "clicks." I was born to encourage and mentor, and teaching allows me to be part of that process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to assess and assist my students in making goals and work creatively to reach those goals in a way that will best address the needs of the student, cater to their learning style, and keep them motivated. We will target problem areas, focus on a musical performance approach for challenging literature (rather than just reading the music/playing the notes), and find ways of making mundane tasks fun! I know from experience that prioritizing this element (joy!) is pivotal to instilling and maintaining passion in any endeavor :)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a graduate of the Arizona State University trumpet studio under David Hickman (BA); one of the top 5 trumpet studios in the country! I also studied under Marcellus Brown from Boise State. My passion for nutrition, psychology, motivational speaking, physical fitness, and life coaching is evident in my teaching style. When I'm not teaching, I am playing with my two teenage boys, enjoying time with my husband, or writing/transcribing sheet music for Lindsey Stirling (violinist).
