Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to spend the first few minutes with new students getting to know them and learning about what their goals are and how I can best help fulfill them. We then explore the possibilities together. Classes are one (1) hour in length.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my bachelors degree in Health and Wellness, am an E-RYT Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor, and have worked with Cirque du Soleil performing aerial acrobatics. I have extensively studied human anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, and am able to adapt my classes to work with students of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels. I understand how to safely protect the body from injury as well as adapt classes to work around existing injuries and limitations.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My classes are $65/class (1 hour) or $55/class when purchased as a 5-class package. This applies to all class types as well as personal training/nutrition consultations.
How did you get started teaching?
I fell in love with teaching after showing up for a yoga class in 2012 in which the teacher didn't show up and the studio manager informed us that the class would need to be canceled then joked that we could still have class if one of us students was willing to teach but. I was really craving class that day and immediately offered to teach without giving it much thought. The class went very well and I was offered the opportunity teach my own class on the spot at the end, which started my journey in which I was later certified as a yoga instructor : )
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with so many types of students! Kids, adults, elderly, athletes, many types of injuries, varied body types, heavier students, disabled students, pregnant women, etc.
